Filling in fields
Within a field you can use DELETE and BACKSPACE. You can also clear the field using CTRL+END. If you have completely filled a field with characters, you move to the next without having to press TAB.
Type Ahead
The Type Ahead facility means that you can type more quickly than your input is displayed. For example, in the Signon window you could type "idpasswordENTER" in one sequence without waiting for each field to be highlighted before typing into it.
Clearing all fields F2
On many windows, such as the calculators, deal entry or deal enquiry, you can clear all the fields by pressing F2.
Checks by 4XTRA
If you type in an entry which is not valid, a red error message is displayed. For example:
| |
 |
Not a recognised customer code |
In this case, you cannot continue until you have corrected the customer code.
Sometimes a warning is displayed, for example:
| |
 |
WARNING rate is more than 10% from current rate of 1.7892 |
A warning does not prevent you from moving to the next field.
