This system manager’s guide describes the 4XTRA facilities for the day-to-day running of the 4XTRA Dealing System. It is aimed at the person responsible for the network and 4XTRA system and should be used in conjunction with other 4XTRA documentation. (4XTRA Dealing and Position keeping guide, 4XTRA Calculators guide, 4XTRA General Description, 4XTRA Technical description, 4XTRA programmers guide). It assumes that you are familiar with dealing systems and their operations as well as the particular network and printers 4XTRA will run on in your institution.
How to use this guide

The guide explains the elements of the system, explains how to monitor the system and describes what procedures should be performed on a daily and monthly basis. |

At the end of the guide is a troubleshooting section which lists a number of possible problems and how to overcome them. |

Appendices provide diagrams of the network and daily activities, a description of the remote monitoring and repair system, the overnight batch and details of how to make a PC into a 4XTRA machine. |
